Three areas of attack today, a few sleepers to be changed on Freshfield bank, the dock siding (again!) and of course, Ardingly...
So, off as usual in the Wickham as soon after the signalman had arrived as was possible
Why don't you stop taking pictures and get on with it?? ('cos there weren't enough shovels!)
Dock siding, take two. Dig out all the rubbish first...
...during the upheaval, what appeared to be a small planted nature feature was created...
...but was soon removed on what is believed to be the world's first Wickham mounted rock garden!
At lunchtime, Dave demonstrated the technique he usese to ensure that noone gets in shot - wear
hiviz on the platform and all the photographers leave in their droves....!
During the week, parts of the siding had been tamped and ballasted, giving us the job of clearing the
sleepers at some point....
When Jon said he wanted a decent exhaust effect in his next pic, this wasn't what I though he
meant!
Later in the day, we were cutting the rail ends at the far end of the siding
Even fading light can't stop the pway gang, but the threat of tea and cakes on the other hand....
