Another different loco to work on! Birch Grove was in the works for an annual exam, and I was given the task of sorting out the mounting points for the clack valves - the stud threads needed to be cleaned with a die, the mounting surfaces needed the remains of the gaskets removing, and for good measure I also cleaned out the threads of the nuts using a tap
guess what, the obligatory before shot...
...and no prizes for guessing...! The openings were blanked off using a rubber seal and a metal plate ready for the
boiler test
