This week the O1 was in the workshop in preparation for it's annual boiler exam and some routine work as well.
The rear wheelset had been removed, and my job was to help take off the springs and the axleboxes for maintenance.
This involved a lot of gunk removal, and a large tray of paraffin and a paintbrush
Eventually all the parts were removed, and the cleaning could begin. After an afternoon spent attempting to avoid
becoming highly flammable, it was once again time to leave, with the threat of more of the same for the following week!
