A 36 turn today, which roughly translates as being an odd job crew unless something unusual happens, in which case there might be some shunting to do, or a Thunderbird mission should something fail in traffic.  The first task I was given was to clean up Normandy's footplate, which didn't take too long, so after a while I slunk off to the workshop in the hope of finding something to do that I could leave should I be required.

How about some painting then?  The O1's tender top, being wire-brushed and swept down.

after
After much brushing of the world's stickiest paint (bituminious emulsion, or something like that, seemingly a cross between tar, rubber and paint), the rear part of the tender was now looking a bit more respecatble, and lot more weatherproof.  Not only does the stuff make it look nice, the primary reason for using it is that it's both waterproof and quite tough, so the metal underneath becomes protected from the weather.
