Many different tasks were undertaken today, firstly the S+T gang had taken delivery of a substantial quantity of precast concrete troughing and other assorted heavy concrete items, so we gave them a hand to shift it
As usual, Mark did his usual strongman act, single handedly shifting stuff that took most of the
rest of us in combination to move....
More lifting taking place, showing just how much the track needed to be raised to bring it level
with the other road in the shed. This also means that the lift would need to be run quite a
long was into the shed to level out the hump
Everyone else is on a breather, but Mark keeps on going like no tomorrow...
Later on, and still the formation is consuming more fill!
This is not a safe place to stand when Mark is packing, so having a long lens is quite useful
Telephoto is rather cruel at times, showing just how much running out the newly lifted track will required,
ie most of the way into the shed, and all the way back to the point!
Much later on, we took some sleepers up to Vaux End for replacing some condemned ones. Unfortuntely, as soon as we started, the nut-runner decided to pack up, and necessitated the use of a T-bar, which we had left on the Wickham as it had been reliable for the past few months.. The best laid plans!
Part way through the sleeper changing, to be finished next week
