Some more work on the boiler today, and back to those studs in the dome that I ran away from last month.....
Some more work being done on the firebox of 1638
This part of the process is worse than having to try and yank out the studs:
in order to remove the broken ones, you have to.....
...cut them off and grind the surface flush with the surroundings...
..then drill out the centre and then punch the remainder out, while trying not to
take the thread off the platework. A bit of gas comes in handy to burn out the majority,
but it still takes ages to pick all the bits out, and after a whole day, two were just about
done and the others were not even close!
