A horribly early start today, booking on at 5am, all in the name of providing entertainment for all the rugrats, as it was the second Thomas weekend

too early
Fenchurch in the morning, or should that be middle of the night?  Steve appears in shot as (1) he's an attention seeker and wants to get in on the act, and (2) wants to prove that he was also mad enough to be up at this hour, check the timestamp on the photo for proof!

Another new experience today was learning how to couple and uncouple the air brakes used by Fenchurch and Birch Grove, which were the locos that Steve and I wre the third men on.  When double-heading with Terriers, the Terrier must be the leading locomotive to avoid exceeding the drawbar pull limit.  This means running the two locomotives around each other as well as the train, so plenty of practice was gained!

new face
Birch Grove with proposed new face as suggested by certain members of the loco dept.....
