First task today was to remove the boards from Horsted House Farm foot crossing so we could jack and pack the joints underneath them
'Are you sure this one didn't come from the other side?'
One exposed track joint, looking a tad dipped.....
After the return to Horsted, Tony and I went to West Hoathly to take delivery of two lorry loads of rails for the extension that were turning up at 11am. Except, the first turned up at 12, and the other an hour later. Needless to say, the intermittant showers more or less coincided with the deliveries...
75027 passes the rail pile between deliveries, Tony can be seen on the former cattle/goods dock
By the time we returned, it was getting on for time to go home, except that this weekend there was the 'HorstedFest', a barbecue and music for members of the society, so being a Bank Holiday the next day, the opportunity for a pint of beer or two was not going to be missed, and I managed to win six cans of Guinness in the raffle as well! Before that, however, some overtime took place, and we replaced a number of sleepers between Three Arch bridge and Tremains, managing not to delay the evening member's train services.....
The source of music for the evening
This character keeps reminding me that there isn't a pic of him from my turn on the O1 in February, so this is the best I
can do for now....!
